scarlet stationery is live!

This is a very exciting time for me! scarlet stationery is open for business :)




When i discovered etsy, it was love at first site. In two months i have got two shops up and running and am loving every moment of it. scarlet stationery is at a very early stage in its life and there are lots more exciting things to come so watch this space. So far, I am only selling handstamped cards, but I am currently working on wedding stationery and greetings cards.

Craft Room in progress

Sooo I'm very excited today as it is my first day working in my brand new craft room. My darling other half took me to ikea during the week and patiently followed me around whilst i picked stuff for my new room.



Its all still definitely a work in progress. I have no storage yet and that is desperately needed but hey any craft room is better than no craft room, right?!?!

Happy New Year

Happy 2009 everyone. I hope everyone had a relaxing break.

New year - new blog posts. It has been a while since my first blog post but one of my "things to do" (i dont like new years resolutions - noone ever sticks to them) for 2009 is to keep this regularly updated.

Soooo since my last post, a lot has been happening. I have spent a lot of time sourcing new supplies and where better to look than etsy. I have also had a lot of problems with taking photos of my jewelry. For a long while my photos were coming out pink...



This photo was taken in a handmade lightbox made using an old cardboard box and white tissue paper. I'm no photographer but from researching this on the interweb, the key to getting this to work is to have the right lighting... which i guess i didnt have.


Anyways, it all worked out in the end. I got some gorgeous scrapbooking papers for christmas, reset my camera to its default settings and let natural daylight do the work. Here is the result.


I have had 5 sales and to date got 26 hearts :) I am loving every minute of my new found hobby.

Throughout January, i will be creating new material for my second etsy shop - http://scarletstationery.etsy.com. This will feature handmade cards all featuring rubber stamping. I got some gorgeous new stamps in the post this morning. Will post a sneak preview very soon.

Day One

My intention of starting this blog is to have a way of showing of my work and to have a way to interact with people that see my creations. I dont know how often I will be able to remember to update this but will do my best to stay on top of it.

What is Scarlet up to??

I have been busy setting up two etsy shops to display my various designs. First up is scarlet sky designs http://scarletskydesigns.etsy.com - a shop dedicated to jewellery design. My second shop which i set up today is scarlet sationery http://scarletstationery.etsy.com - a shop for my handmade cards. Another mountain to climb is taking photos of my work for my etsy shop, which has been a challenge in itself espcially with the horrible british weather. Alongside this blog, i also have a twitter account and am on flickr. Its hard work but i am loving every minute of it. I have spent most of today designing business cards and thank you cards and they are coming along nicely (even if i do say so myself).
